About Traci Baker Jackson
Traci Baker Jackson is a Maryland-based contemporary artist whose work moves fluidly between abstraction and emotion. Through bold color, layered textures, and intuitive brushwork, she creates visual narratives that speak to identity, memory, and transformation.
Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Traci’s creative foundation is deeply influenced by the richness of her community and the cultural energy of the region. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of Maryland at College Park, where she had the privilege of studying under legendary artist and scholar David C. Driskell. His mentorship helped shape her artistic voice and her understanding of color as a cultural language.
Traci’s work has been featured in exhibitions, private collections, and collaborations that reflect both personal truth and shared experience. Her art invites viewers to slow down, feel deeply, and connect with what can’t always be said in words.
She continues to live and create in Maryland, building a body of work that is as expressive, soulful, and rooted as the place she calls home.
